The Great Easter Egg Craft Roundup

31 March 2015  |  Nicola

With only a few days left for crafting before the Easter weekend is here, it’s the ideal time to get in the mood by weaving baskets, stringing up garlands and filling vases and jugs with daffodils. Our favourite thing to do at Easter, though, is get the pens, washi tape and glue out and get stuck into decorating eggs; this week, we’ve found some of the most amazing egg decorating tutorials on the web – watch out for the cute egg couple!

Twine decorated eggs from Landee See Landee Do

One of the simplest but most effective tutorials is over at Landee See Landee Do, where she wound bakers twine in different colours round her eggs, gluing it in place with Mod Podge. We loved the cool zig-zag-style effect, and that it’s something that could be easily done in front of the TV during the evening!

Glitter Easter Eggs by Miss Kris

Colourful glitter easter eggs from Miss Kris

If you’re thinking about adding a bit of sparkle to your Easter crafts, Miss Kris has a brilliant DIY showing you how to make perfect glittery eggs, using just glue and good old fashioned glitter.

Washi tape eggs from Lovely Indeed

Gold leaf and washi eggs by Miss Renaissance

We’re not ashamed of our deep love of washi tape here at StickyTiger, and we found it quite hard to choose our favourite washi eggs, but in the end managed to narrow it down to just two tutorials. Lovely Indeed showcased some brilliant eggs decorated with geometric washi shapes, while Miss Renaissance mixed it up with some gold-leaf. Genius!

Neon eggs by Courtney at Merriment for Oh Joy!

We love the Oh Joy! blog, so it wasn’t surprising that we found an amazing egg decorating tutorial over there. Written as a guest post by Courtney of Merriment, the simple DIY shows you how to turn plain white eggs into a dip-dyed neon extravaganza.

Egg couple by Say Yes

Our overall favourite though, has to be the egg-people from Say Yes blog; as well as being amazingly creative and quirky, contributor Rachael filled the wooden eggs with little treats for their owners. Love!
