Great Ideas for Father's Day

Great typography glasses for Father's Day

There might only be a day left until Father’s Day, but that doesn’t mean you have to resort to vouchers or socks if you’ve left it until the last minute. Aside from whipping up some of our colourful coasters or a decorated mug, there are plenty of ideas on the internet that will definitely float your Dad’s boat – here’s our pick of the best!

Mr. Printables is an absolutely amazing source for home printing projects, and we fell in love with these DIY Dad glasses as soon as we saw them. They’d be great for family photos, or you could even attach them to the front of a card blank to make a unique Father’s Day card.

Any green-fingered Dads will love these photo-planters we found over at Apartment Therapy – both practical and quirky, they make a great gift for the nature-loving man in your life.

If your Dad is a keen foodie, why not make him a DIY hamper – the possibilities are pretty much endless, but we love the popcorn sampler at DIY Ready, and the sweetie box at Liluna. If you’re not keen on paper folding, simply take an old cardboard box, cover it with printed scrapbook paper and artfully arrange the contents.

If you’re good with a needle and thread, why not choose some lovely fabric and make your Dad some accessories to smarten up his wardrobe? We love the easy tutorial for a bow-tie over at The Sewing Sessions, and the Purl Bee has a great DIY for a standard tie.

Shop-bought socks might be an old idea, but we love the idea of handmade ones; Knitty has a great pattern for some pretty fancy socks, while SMP Craft have produced a really simple DIY for crocheted slippers – both perfect for keeping your Dad’s feet warm on those cool Summer evenings!
