Great Ideas for Creative Wedding Favours

Tea Bag Favours

The last of our short wedding series is here; so far we’ve made our own save-the-date cards, looked at simple DIY décor ideas, and decorated some jam jars – now it’s time to thank the guests.  Wedding favours traditionally used to be a small handtied bag of sugared almonds, but these days pretty much anything goes. From garden-based delights to sweet treats, we’ve rounded up our favourite little gifts to leave for your loved ones.

We love the idea of anything plant-based, so the herb starter kits at Sam and Emily’s wedding featured on 100 Layer Cake stole our hearts straight away – we particularly loved the rustic pots and the way they were arranged into a feature of their own. Over at Project Wedding, the succulent favours caught our eye, and we also loved the heart shaped seed bomb tutorial at Textile Love.

Tea and Coffee are always popular little gifts, and they also make great wedding favours; either buy pre-packaged miniatures, or simply make your own. Tea fans will love the free printable packages over at Botanical Paperworks, while anyone thinking of giving coffee as a gift could easily wrap some fresh organic coffee beans – Apropos Roasters on Etsy offer ready-made, personalised favours, or you could even print onto your own fabric bags with a stamp and ink pad.

Food makes great wedding favours – after all, who doesn’t like edible goodness?! We love the idea of tiny jars of sweets, miniature pots of local produce such as jams, marmalades, honey and chutney, selections of biscuits and delicate macarons, all tied up in lovely packaging.

If you’re going down the DIY route, origami ornaments make great little reminders of your special day – we particularly love this super simple tutorial we found at Zu Galerie for an origami pot; beautiful and practical! Printed tote bags are another great idea – eBay is great for bulk orders of blank canvas totes, and here at StickyTiger, we’ve got a huge range of ink pads that are perfect for printing onto fabric. Either use pre-made stamps, or carve your own personalised ones from lino blocks, and get printing!
