Here at StickyTiger, we like our craft materials to be as versatile as possible, and wax paper is certainly that; whether you want to create some imaginative gift wrapping, transfer an image or sculpt something fabulous out of paper, this is the medium you need. Here are our favourite tutorials on the internet which show you how to get crafty with wax paper. Martha Stewart came out on top as usual with not one but two amazing tutorials; firstly, the gift wrap made from tissue paper hearts sandwiched between the wax paper captured our attention, and then we stumbled across the hanging heart garland – as well as loving the original tutorials, we’re already thinking about ideas for similar projects. Watch this space! Over at A Piece of Rainbow, crafter Ananda shows how to turn an ordinary wooden box made from pallets (we do love a bit of upcycling!) into beautiful storage boxes complete with vintage style wax paper transfers. Genius! The one thing we love about wax paper is that the thickness and texture makes it ideal for creating sculptures, as it holds its shape pretty well. We found this amazing backdrop over at Style Me Pretty, which is made from hundreds of wax paper cones – what an incredible effect! If nature is your thing, wax paper is ideal for preserving leaves – we loved both the beautiful paper lanterns over at Once Wed, and also the colourful autumn mobile from Buggy and Buddy; two great ways to make your colourful nature displays last that bit longer. |
