Pigment ink is one of the main types of ink used by crafters. It differs from dye ink in that the ink sits on top of the paper or card, rather than being absorbed into it. Pigment inks are usually water based, more sticky in consistency and won't dry easily when used on glossy or non porous paper. This very fact means they're great for using with embossing powders. They're also more resistant to fading and are truer to the colour of the ink pad (dye ink pads are normally darker then the stamped colour).
A note of caution: our description is a general rule of thumb but each ink pad brand has unique properties and should be checked first.
