 | Five Great Ceramicists13 March 2014 | Nicola |
Here at StickyTiger, we love our crafts; from sewing and sticking to older skills such as weaving and pottery, we think there’s nothing better than a home filled with handmade goodness. This week on the blog, we’re featuring some of our favourite ceramicists and their work; from quirky planters to patterned dinner plates, we’ve found something to suit everyone.

Katrin Moye
Katrin specialises in tableware that is designed to be used and adored; offering a range of cups, plates, bowls and jugs, she hand decorates each item with love, focusing on the importance of print and colour. We particularly like her ‘Dotted Stripe’ and ‘Christa’ collections; repeating patterns at their very best.

Kinska
We love anything out of the ordinary at StickyTiger; the quirky, the diverse, the colourful and the unexpected – which is why we fell hard for the amazing range of hand thrown, individually decorated ceramic vases and planters at Kinska. With bright colours, eclectic patterns and our absolute favourites – the faces, we think they’re the best way to display your houseplants this Spring.

Susan Simonini
We think there’s nothing better than a good geometric; from cushions and plates to wallhangings and rugs, there’s something wonderful about the use of simple shapes and colours in decoration. Which is why we got a bit excited when we stumbled across Susan’s wonderful planters and tableware; handmade from earthy textured clay and decorated with dots, scallops and stripes, we think they’re a great example of modern rustic pottery.

Tilissimo
Maya at Tilissimo is a potter with a difference; as well as handmaking all of her clay tiles coasters herself, and then decorating them with a unique decoupage technique, she’s also proud to be able to say that all of her products are completely environmentally friendly. From the glues to the glazes, everything is water based, and contain absolutely nothing toxic – so whichever design you choose, from maps to Aztec patterns, you can be sure that your lovely coasters had absolutely no negative impact on the environment.

Linda Bloomfield
Author and potter Linda makes beautiful porcelain tableware, which we love for its beautiful simplicity. Clean lines and simple shapes make up the range of cups, jugs, teapots, plates and bowls; all feature soothingly coloured interiors and satin matt glazes, and are the perfect addition to any dining table.
